Updates:
Not feeling too well this morning, so had Tika call Mak Nik and had a good massage this morning. Not that great -- it still cant compete with the back body massage I had at Nanda's last Sunday. But as I told Dina, I cant really do that too often... not healthy lah ;-)
The CBD kicked off last week on the 3rd. EIA released their report, Profitting from Plunder, on Wednesday the 4th and the Warrior released their findings on the next day. After that we were all working frantically on preparation of the next RW visit. The Warrior came back on the 9th and we had a prescon on the 10th.
It was crazy, we had very little time to prepare the presser, but the turnup wasnot bad. It went out on AP, Reuters, DPA, EPA, and several local media such as MetroTV, Indosiar... but I am not sure about SCTV. I was quite upset with these guys. They agreed to assign someone on board but said that they need some time to prepare their gear. So the captain delayed their departure time from 8pm to 11pm. Rob and Dina swore that this will happen, since that was the news I heard from SCTV.
About 8.30pm the producer called me and said that they changed their minds and call off their participation in the project. All my joints felt lose... why on earth will they do that, the producer said I can scream at him and he accept that he was wrong. I said that I cant get angry with him, that will not change a thing -- so I pushed and pushed until the producer handed the phone to his superior... he finally admits that the reason was not technical (which was the reasoning he used earlier). I guess that was it; I called Dina who didnt sound too crazy about the prospect of facing the captain and bear the bad news. But Rob handled the situation well and do without much trouble with the captain. All's well. I felt so drained and didnt really feel like going home at the time... so I called up the guys and they told me to come and say farewell to the ship crew. So I took a taxi to the port -- and went round and round before finding pier 007, the James Bond pier :-)
I had a nice chat with the crew, Isha, Christian, and everyone else. From there, Dina, myself, Teguh, Agus, Kenneth and Mark went out for some chinese meal at Pecenongan. Luvley.
